What ARE "SMALL WEDDINGS"?

MINI WEDDING

 

A mini wedding is a wedding with less than 50 guests that still has all of the elements of a traditional wedding, just on a smaller scale. It typically involves the ceremony, a meal, and entertainment over the course of several hours.

MICRO OR "TINY" WEDDING

 

A micro wedding is a wedding with 30 or fewer guests that is a stripped-down version of a traditional wedding. Micro weddings last under two hours which is just long enough to have your ceremony followed by some drinks and light bites, with some photos to mark the occasion.

ELOPEMENT

 

An elopement is just two people running off to get married with an officiant and maybe a photographer, often last minute and without family and friends’ knowledge. Elopements don’t contain any elements of a traditional wedding except for the ceremony.

Meet UsAfter reading stories throughout the country of weddings being postponed or canceled as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of five of the nation’s top wedding planners came together to offer couples a solution. We knew there was a way that couples could still get married and celebrate with loved ones (once shelter in place restrictions were lifted).


We simplified the wedding planning process and created a turnkey process for couples to get married while keeping guest counts low to maintain safe social distancing.
Small Wedding Society founders Beth Bernstein, Gretchen Culver, Valerie Gernhauser, Wendy Kay, and Amy Nichols, spearheaded their own respective micro wedding concepts in the cities in which they reside: Essential I Dos by SQN Events in Chicago, Minne Weddings in Minneapolis, Minimal Matrimony in New Orleans, Tiny Weddings Dallas, and Intimate I Dos by Amy Nichols Special Events in San Francisco.
